I first posted this on Facebook and suddenly my Ranger fan friends called to remind me who is going to the playoffs and who is getting a good draft pick. To which i insisted not to change the subject.

As I watch the Rangers play the Bruins on Versus, i still hear the echoing chant of Potvin sucks. It's amazing how angered the Ranger fans are that they never had a d-man like Potvin. It actually makes me kinda happy that after all of these years the slightest mention of his name still makes Ranger fans angry. It's been about 25 years since he retired and while a banner hangs in Nassau Coliseum, his name is still chanted in MSG.

Now I know this topic has been discussed before, and some felt it didn't bother them and some felt it did. I was the latter. I felt a Messier chant would be in order. Lately however my thoughts have changed and I actually enjoy the fact that they still cheer our Alumni....even if in a negative way.
