Why letting the Leafs get Carlyle was a bad idea

The Isles haven't had an NHL level coach since Laviolette. Capuano hasn't improved the Isles since he took over as coach. He is suffocating the #1 isles prospect. The Islanders needed to take action and fire Capuano and get an NHL level coach who can help the young players elevate their game. Ken Hitchcock would have fit perfectly, but the Blues got him, and look at them now... 3rd place in the west. The Islanders needed him, but passed up on the opportunity. A few weeks later, Randy Carlyle was fired in Anaheim. The islanders really needed to go out and get Carlyle to be the coach. Yesterday, the Leafs fired Ron Wilson and hired Carlyle. What a mistake! The Islanders passed up on two coaches that could have turned the team around, and made this team a contender, not a team that just misses the playoffs every year. They passed on two coaches with Stanley Cup rings, and they both knew how to win. The Islanders needed to get Carlyle or Hitchcock, and when the Blues and Leafs are competing for the cup soon, and the Islanders are just missing the playoffs again, you can look back to when they passed up on Carlyle and Hitchcock. Big mistake!!!
