It looks like Coach Capuano has the hand Garth Snow has dealt him unless a last minute surprise big trade is made. Please make suggestions to him for the best tactical decisions he can make to get us off to a winning start Every team likes to start fast but the Isles this is especially true because if we are to make the play-offs we have to compete with 6 elite teams and beat out another 2 of 6 squads that also have post season possibilities.
How do we accomplish this?
1) Do we use our young fast forwards in a dump and chase tactic for quick scores, similar to Gordon's technique last season which resulted in a tired teams and losing third period leads?
2), Do we utilize a trap or modified trap to slow down offensive rushes to preserve our limited defensive resources?
3), Do we keep a forward back in the offensive zone to act as a 3rd D, as if we are protecting a lead?
4), Do we do the opposite and swarm the net inorder to score much needed goals by our talented high scoring forwards?
The early GFs/GAs ratio may tell the story. Jack may be reading this post, please help him out with your suggestions!
5), At goal are we patient with our #1 and 2 opening lineup, or do we keep rotating assets until a clear standout emerges?
