Thank You  for all that you did for the fans.

I know many of the people in this site did not like Botta's website and said it was too negative, but his site was not a typical fan site. Yes Islanderspointblank  was a fan site but it was more than that, it was really the only place where real Islanders news and objective opinions were given. I felt that his coverage of the team was 1st rate and he gave us a true picture of the team. He was not always right but I would say he was right more than 95% of the time. Even when the Islanders pulled his press credentials he still gave better coverage of the team than the beat writer for Newsday, Katie Strang.

He was insightfull, knowledgeable, and most of the time got information before anybody else. I used to look at his site 2-3 times a day to see if there was any breaking news.

Now that is all gone. Hopefuly Staple can pick up the slack in Newsday but I doubt it. Our 1 true place for ISLANDERS NEWS, not fan opinion, is now gone.
