I've been a New York sports fan my whole life, from the Giants to the Yankees to the Knicks.  But unfortunately, the Knicks aren't gonna be playing next year.  Oh no!  But this can be viewed as a positive for me, because it gives me incentive to start following a sport I've always loved watching, hockey.   

But there's one problem with this.  How am I supposed to jump into to this huge organization?  Well, that's where I want your help.

I want you to post the Islander's star players, their top prospects, their big story lines, etcetera etcetera.  Think to yourself that you are, for all intents and purposes, writing a complete noob's guide to the 2011 - 2012 Islander's organization.  

And I know some of you must be wondering why I chose the Islanders to root for.  Well, most of the Ranger fans I know are assholes, I don't have low enough self esteem to root for a New Jersey team, but most of all, my uncle was a huge Islanders fan.  And as of now, I don't know anyone in my family that will carry that tradition on.
