What Should Be Snow's First Move?

We have discussed the draft at length and the Isle's possible choices. These selections will have great implications for the team's future and continuing rebuild going forward. However, if you think that the team could be a play-off contender this coming season than you may also believe that Garth must add at least one and probably two top players to the roster via trade or free agency. We certainly have the cap space and Charles Wang has not been reluctant lately to spend money. I believe a genuine winning run starting right from the gate is essential for positive PR and good attendance that will keep the new building project on the front burner. Waiting for a long losing streak before looking for help will end up as too little too late.In our very competitive division using racing lingo we don't have the horses to win. Yes, we do have scoring punch, but are lacking on the defensive side inorder to dramatically cut down our goals against. In your opinion which position has priority? Goal; Defense or Forward, Players name's and reasons for your choices and trades are encouraged. If you feel that our rebuild is progressing well and that we should not rush into changing the team, please state the reasons for your patience and optimism.

My choices in order of preference

1) A #1 Goalie (GS is certainly the best judge for this position) I'm thinking a younger Rollie type capable of playing 50 games.

#2 A big young top 4 D, (there are lots of FAs to chose from).

3 A strong 2nd line forward, (Laich or Ward would do fine) - To make room I would pare Hunter and or Konopka.
