We have been seeing the Stats on most of the games since about Mid-February and Grabner pushed himself to the top of the rookie goal scorers. I think he is the most exciting player we have but will Skinner's full season of points push be rewarded with the Trophy. There is no doubt that since 2011 rolled in Grabner is the best rookie, and in my opinion that should earn him the honors, but lets look at all the numbers and some of the other rookies.
3 top runners
RW Grabner NYI 33G/17A/50P/+14/14:58 TOI/15.1shoot%
C Skinner CAR 30G/29A/59P/+4/16:40/14.6%
C Couture SJ 31/23/54/+19/17:48/12.6%
others
D- Fowler ANA 10/30/40/-26/22:11 -26 kills his chances
D Hamonic NYI 3/20/23/+7/21:24 in 60 games
D Carlson WAS 7/30/37/+22/22:38 awesome +22 nice numbers all around
LW Ennis BUF 19/29/48/0/15:44/9.3%
C Stepan NYR 21/23/44/+8/16:22/12.8% Boo!!! but nice rookie season
G-Bobrovsky PHI 28-13-7/ 2.51/.917
G Crawford CHI 32-17-6/2.27/.918
G Reimer TOR 20-9-5/2.55/.922
another nice rookie class but I agree with the top 3 guys being the ones in the running. I was a little surprised at the numbers for Carlson for Washington, very strong season. The Goalies have good numbers but 3 rookie 30 goal scorers are tough to argue.
Off the subject but Duchene has passed JT with 65 points now, and is at 120 to JT 118 for their careers. Turning out to be an interesting comparison.
