Sign Zach Parise debate.

Give it some thought be open-minded.

As an Islander fan, how can you not want to take something away from New Jersey? Are we looking to take the next step? Do we want Instant credibility? Ticket sales? They stole our spot in the draft by winning the lottery. Why not return the favor?

After all our core players are signed...

I say sign Parise to an offer sheet that pays him between 7-8 million per year for the next 4 years, and see if the Devils match it. If the talks between LOU & Parise fail, the devils can go to an arbitrator. If they do go to an arbitrator, do the Devils really want to make Parise a UFA in 2012 and have NO leverage?

There's also the Devil's cap space issues. They roughly have 7.2 million cap space to sign 3-4 players (Parise included) How can they match the offer? Lou would then have to be very creative, and put himself in an awkward position knowing that all the NHL teams know he has to shed payroll.

What do we lose? 4 Top picks in the next 4 years? Do you really care who the next up and coming top prospects are in 2012,13,14 & 15? Aren't we all tired of talking potential impact players through the draft already?

I don't know about any of you, but the PARISE idea keeps popping into my head.

If there's been a RFA worth signing to an offer sheet, it's Zach Parise.

If we try via trade to pick before the Devil's, it would be double the hurt on our rivals!
