Montoya Could Become A Special Player On The Island Too
He deserves the same shot Matt, RSH, PAP, and Grabs have had.

This link was in the morning post, too
Maybe injuries were an issue, but the difference with Montoya is he hasn’t excelled at the AHL level either.
Lighthouse Hockey: Send us your cold, your poor, your healthy goalies.
Well, injuries and lack of opportunity may have been a factor there as well
Keep an open mind is all I’m saying to everyone. Would be ironic if a DP goalie fight results in them sharing the net next year.
My mind is definitely open
Just not terribly hopeful. But hey, if he can even just outplay Koskinen and Lawson, then it’s a win.
Lighthouse Hockey: Send us your cold, your poor, your healthy goalies.
I think that means outplaying Mikko and Lawson (thus far)

This. Didn't he have an .8XX save percent in the ahl this season before we traded for him? And he looks really shaky in the net, can't cleanly catch/squeeze many shots.
Proud Islanders fan, the organization that iced the greatest team to ever play the game and won 4 straight cups. Best overall player in the nhl right now=Pavel Datsyuk.
And never forget "The Twisted Sister-We're Not Gonna Take it Retribution Game" against the pens where we beat their ass on the scoreboard 9-3 and on the ice, getting retribution for their cheapshotting wussy asses!:

Former 6th overall who's put up some good nhl numbers
and somehow, between being behind Lundqvist and other better goalies, and his injuries, he lost his way…hey you never know, at least now he can say he got his chance. Now if he could just calm down and not lose his stick every 5 minutes and not send his rebounds to the redline…then we’re talkin’
"Seriously that's the last time you guys f#@%ing won?" -RSH (about beating the Penguins in '93)
biggest problem I noted
was his inability to glove down loose pucks that gave the Sabres additional chances.
Sort of OT
But you should never, ever draft a goalie in the first round. Or even the second, really.
i don’t know if i would say Montoya deserves a shot, generally he would have to earn it, but given Isles traded for him and the injuries, Isles have to give him a shot. Besides, Isles can not lose. Even if Montoya ends up a career AHLer, Isles need depth there too right now. You list of guys who were given chances is a little short (although some would argue about RSH success), but others such as Martin (who otherwise would have been in minors) have been given a shot. Its a long list actually. Hamonic, etc.

I was referring to players that have not come up in our organization
It is to be assumed that valued prospects like Hamonic and Martin will get their shot. And RSH has been given several shots. When I say he should get a shot, that doesn’t mean that mean that he automatically be accepted as part of the core. Just that he deserves the same chance to prove himself that they have had.
giving up big rebounds
I think he has beenlucky so far. he could have easily given up a few more goals.
Any task BIG or small, Do it well or not at all
but he is good for future depth at Bridgeport
