6 game report card

This is my report card after 6 games for the club. Open for comments, however, these are just my opinions based upon what I have seen on the ice. I am not an NHL coach or scout, so dont kill me! LOL - The biggest problem I can see is the breakout. We dont have one! It seems like Streit is the only one who can make a legitimate pass to a forward from the defensive zone through the neutral zone. Everyone else is just dumping and getting rid of the puck. Cappy should also consider moving Martin on one of the top two PP units and planting him in front of the net.

New York Islanders Roster

Josh Bailey 12 C Has not been awful, but offensive limitations abound.

Blake Comeau 57 D Could quickly be losing his trade value. Looks lazy and unmotivated.

Rick DiPietro 39 INC Poor Ricky. Gotta feel bad for the guy. All he wants to do is play.

Mark Eaton 4 C Servicable, but does look real slow in this new speed NHL.

Trevor Gillies 14 INC Cannot grade on 3 minutes per game.

Michael Grabner 40 B Been creating by using his blazing speed. Only a matter of time.

Travis Hamonic 3 B+ Solid in my opinion, 2nd best D-man on the club at his age says a lot.

Milan Jurcina 27 INC Injured since camp.

Andrew MacDonald 47 C Does not look the same as before the hip injury. Could just need more time.

Matt Martin 17 B Been doing his job real well. Banging bodies and throwing pucks at net.

Al Montoya 35 B Solid and steady. What happened Cappy? Did he piss in your cornflakes? LOL

Mike Mottau 10 D Always looks like he is in panic mode. On and off his skates.

Matt Moulson 26 B Still grinding and going to the net. Getting chances.

Evgeni Nabokov 20 B Very good. Showcasing for trade?

Nino Niederreiter 25 INC Injured since camp. Where does he fit at this point?

Frans Nielsen 51 B- Looks indecisive with the puck. Has to create more. Gets a pass for always excellent D.

Kyle Okposo 21 D Huge disappointment. Future captain? He has to figure out what kind of player he is first.

Jay Pandolfo 29 B Doing exactly what is asked. No more, no less.

P.A. Parenteau 15 B Part of the TMP line. Underappreciated.

Marty Reasoner 16 D Giveaway city. Cant seem to keep up with the game. Rather have Zenon back.

Brian Rolston 11 B Still shows glimpses of good speed. Carrying his role.

Steve Staios 24 C+ I think he has actually been pretty good for a 38 yr old. Or is Streit covering up for him?

Mark Streit 2 A Best player on the club. All around steady influence at both ends of the rink.

John Tavares 91 A Top forward has taken a huge leap this season. Looks 1000% stronger on skates.
