The 4th chance to see the Sound Tigers last night - this time, a first chance to focus on the newly acquired Ty Wishart to see what if anything he has now and in future - as well as the continued development of Mikko Koskinen, and the other quality defensemen the Sound Tigers have on offer at present. If nothing else, the Islanders organization retains nice depth at defense, including other prospects still in juniors & at college, as well as excellent goaltending.
A few things about this game
1) Announced attendance of 5145 - the consistent theme of attendance is that there is visibly almost exactly half the people in the seats as they announce. Looked like about 2500 this evening, and so anticipated they would announce about 5000 - Bingo. Previous game was 2000 in seats, announced 4000. A pattern emerges.
2) The referee Lemelin came bursting out with speed - the fastest on ice official I've ever seen - impressive. Sadly, he has no idea how to referee a game, with random calls emerging, which gave an opportunity to see PK in action, but c'mon
more on the individual players & game itself here - thanks as always to Lighthouse Hockey for being the excellent site that it is
