I doubt we make the playoffs, but...
The way I see it, for us to have any chance we have to start pulling for the team standing 6th-9th to lose. We are still so far behind,
Atlanta- 48 points
Rangers- 47
Montreal-45
Carolina- 41
but I will still be cheering against all odds that somehow we get in. I don't think we can play at a 7-1-1 level the rest of the season, but we can play well enough to gain ground. It has to start tonight, although I think it started 2 weeks ago when we started to win a few games.
Carolina needs to beat the Rangers and Florida needs to beat Atlanta.
Then Thursday we need the Blues to beat the Leafs and for us to take care of business vs. the Oilers and that will lift us into a tie for 27th in the league. Seems like just yesterday we were in 30th with very little hope of doing any better than 29th.
I know some guys are pulling for another top 5 draft pick, but I for one would much rather pick 10 or 15 and have agreat second half.
Let's keep this thread going throughout the season as a way to root for these teams to lose.
