unlike the NHL, they play 80 game seasons in the AHL - so Bridgeport is halfway to their finish line
what's especially nice is not only that so many Bridgeport Sound Tigers have gone on to spend time at the NHL level, but they are developing real stars in the making like Hamonic & Poulin, and with a playoff spot to shoot for, they have enough of a reason to try to play as a team as possible, which should only help develop the remaining Sound Tigers skillsets the rest of the way
so, Sound Tigers games will remain important from an Islanders perspective, almost without question
