Neither plays enough on the PK (2:00 per game minimum) to meet the cutoff he was using. Otherwise, Nielsen’s numbers would have him on that list, I believe.

But those are the cut-offs he uses and has always used with that annual listing.
On that note, the Isles one of the lesser penalized teams (4th overall by minutes, 8th overall by total minors, 10th overall by times shorthanded. Seems like he’s being penalized for his team’s collective discipline and for the deficiencies of certain PKers.

Now I see. I’ve thought about this before, but Park is the only forward who gets more PK time than Nielsen. (Whether that’s right is debatable, but I think Gordon is trying to strike the balance between keeping Frans fresh for 5-on-5 checking and utilizing him on the PK.)
Obviously I think Hunter has a good defensive conscience, but the PK is an instance where I think his weaker speed is a detriment. I prefer Comeau and Bergenheim there, particularly if they continue to improve their understanding of when to go for it and when to hang back.
