Six NHL clubs are reportedly after Mats Zuccarello Aasen, the Modo Hockey left-winger who won the Elitserien scoring title this season. This week he was also awarded the Golden Helmet as the Elitserien MVP voted by the players.
He was the first Norwegian to win the honor and the first non-Swede since Jarmo Myllys, who won the Golden Helmet in 1997.
— The Hockey News Eye on Europe. NHL just signed a new Transfer Agreement with the Sweden, so Zuccarello Aasen is cleared to come over to the NHL even though he has a year left on his MoDo contract. Previously he's been linked with Chicago and Detroit, but the Swedish and Norwegian press quoted his agent as saying he would only come to the NHL if he was given a 1-way deal. Critics have said he's too small, but he's bugger than Theo Fleury and the same size as ex-Canadian Mats Naslund. I don't think the Isles are or should be interested.
