Good grief this game is late. And I have a EPL watching party in the morning. Come on, make this worth my while, Isles.

Thank god this is the last west coast game.

And c’mon Dom, Isles vs. Kings is MUCH more important than that silly Man U vs Liverpool match in the morning.

We're doomed. Doomed!

Well, I will grant that Ryan Smyth is prettier than Wayne Rooney. By a nose.

Bwaha. Ok then. Can’t say I watch as much EPL as I do the Bundesliga, (go 1860 Munich!), but you’ll rue the day Rotherham United returns to form from League 2!

Comeau, Comeau, Comeauuu and do the locomotion with me.

P.S.

The killer is normally we can watch big EPL games on DVR delay. Everybody agrees not to know the score, and the news in this country isn’t hard to avoid (though it’s getting harder).

But tomorrow of all days certain guys can only make it if we watch it early.

by David Hanssen on Mar 20, 2010 10:52 PM EDT up reply actions

{Whispers} I have two Bayern shirts. I always loved the classic red/blue vertical stripes way back when.

Basically all my Euro soccer knowledge and interest came from reading about their leagues in Soccer America back in the ‘80s and early ’90s. So I ended up taking an interest in the teams I enjoyed reading about. And now I’m a raging polygamist with “preferences” for teams in each country.

Lighthouse Hockey: What's wrong with lotteries? I've been in lots of lotteries.

I guess I’m a 2 team man, because I am a huge Metro/RBNY fan but I was a fan of Bayern before Metro existed, soo yeah.

We're doomed. Doomed!

by David Hanssen on Mar 20, 2010 10:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Wow, two Bundesliga fans

I would definitely be more into it if I got to see the games more. From what I read, it sounds more like my kind of league. My EPL interest really took off when I could actually count on seeing the games regularly.

I got to see a match on some leave I had a few years ago while visiting Germany. From what my Oma has told me, a few family members played for 1860 before the Bundesliga was assembled as it presently is I believe. The Allianz is just incredible.

p.p.s. – When I look for hockey feeds when NY isn’t on, I go here: http://www.myp2pforum.eu/

but they have almost all first and second league games for most major international football leagues as well. Some high quality stuff, and a lot of variety there (if you’re both interested.)

It’s down right now however, so I hope it’s just a maintenance thing.

Seriously

is it me or does this look like the most clutch and grab obstruction type hockey we/ve seen on a while?

by quin8722 on Mar 20, 2010 11:57 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m feeling some clutch. Which is why the Doughty call surprised me. His arm on Okposo looked like a far lesser incident.

Thoughts on 3D Hockey...

Why does this not seem like such an awesome idea when only 10 people can watch the game the way MSG is advertising?

When I heard about it, I thought “Huh, I’d figure they’d want HD as accessible as possible before they worried about 3D.” Then when I heard how few people would see it, I just laughed.

Or Murray lays into his troops about the last seven minutes of the 2nd and the Kings come out suffocating the game away.

Real shame they didn’t convert one of those chances.

So beautiful. Next season that goes in damit!

BTW: I defend Gordon, but how dare he be upset someone asked him about the 3rd period. It’s obviously a problem, hopefully because of the team being young. But you never know, maybe he’s telling them to hold back and not make mistakes during the 3rd.

Yeah, I haven’t been able to see the post-games, so I don’t know what’s up with him and Carlin. But if he can’t handle a question about that, well he’s lucky he coaches the Isles and not the Rangers.
