I have long thought that the Isles should have been given the Caps' 1993 first round pick as compensation for the Hunter hit on Turgeon/ The Caps used that pick for our very own Witter!!!

That would have been an odd punishment for an on-ice incident (not that I would have complained).
Fun Fact, Part II though: That wasn’t Washington’s 1st-round pick. It was actually St. Louis’, and it was one of five 1st-rounders they had to give up as compensation for signing Scott Stevens via “free” agency.

If I were Dennis Dillon, I would have had Hunter arrested and released pending his suspension for a year and compensation to the Islanders.
