Howie did good, all things considered. But the problem with these rights-holder interviews is they can be staged or at least the questions filtered. So I wonder if Petrov was an oversight or if there was a reason for omitting it. In this case, since the Russians play by different rules, I could understand if he didn’t want to tip his hand.

agree and disagree
I agree with the lose to Ottawa before the break really putting him in a different position. I can understand that.
I also agree that JT wil be better conditioned for next season and have a better understanding if how the draft effects the kids before and after.
I also agree that we need to be patient, if a good trade wasn’t available then we did the right thing. I wish we could have gotten Siedenberg or Leopold but we didn’t. And since none of us have a crystal ball, the MacDonald thing made the Sutto trade hit harder.
I disagree with adding more playoffs, I like that it is only the top half of the league making it, I use to hate seeing a team ranked 16th out of 21 make the playoffs. I also think the playoffs are too long already.
I am glad he is looking for D in the off season
Playoff play-in
Yeah, I am just not feeling that proposal at all. I’m not going to get too upset about it because the GM meetings are like a brainstorm session for stuff like that, but I don’t get the desire. Though, considering they’ve rumbled about expanding the playoffs to 20 teams (with byes and mini-series for the first round), I’d prefer one-game play-ins to that.
But please, just leave it at 16. It’s pretty sweet the way it is.
