The Incendiary Posting Blogger...can't anyone see the truth?

In the blogosphere known as Islander Country, the fans are once again being sold a bill of goods by a blogging fan just like us, who would have you believe that he is a hockey expert, filled with professional knowledge and insights. Since being rejected for an interview by the GM, the Incendiary Posting Blogger has gone into attack mode, questioning many things about the Islanders organization...and challenging fans who question his objectivity to go elsewhere for their reading material. OK, his blog, his right. And, despite the fact that he has clearly used his blog to further his professional career, there are some recent comments that are beyond absurd, which the thinking Islanders fan must carefully consider. Today, for example, the challenge has been about our young talent, and his learned opinion about the lack-thereof...similar to his recent questioning/challenging of the Isles recent "top 5 draft picks." So, let's take a look...

2006: Kyle Okposo...while the Incendiary Posting Blogger now suggests this pick is that of deposed GM Neil Smith, he has in the past rejected that notion outright...regardless, who would have been a better choice? Only Stewart maybe, maybe  could be viewed that way, but more likely they are fairly equal choices. Looks like a real good choice to me, especially since he was not expected to be chosen that high...

2007: No pick until the 3ed Round...so, what's the criticism about?

2008: Ah, the crux of the issue...the Incendiary Posting Blogger has always been an unabashed Filatov fan...but, even when considering that trading down from 5-9 got us Hamonic and possibly Petrov, the Incendiary Posting Blogger criticizes this pick...in favor f whom? Filatov? Schenn? Wilson? Boedekker? Hodgson" Only Meyers, drafted at 12, could be seen as a clear better choice. I do not see a clear awful error here...and while we're at it, isn't this a little early to be evaluating the 2008 draft? Or, is another agenda at play...criticize the GM at every opportunity, while the fan base is responding to a long losing streak. Perfect timing....a little like a PR guy might do...Oh, but wait. Never mind.

2009: He of course tells us that JT was a good pick (duh), that of course fell in our laps, and of course he advocated that pick for months...and also, de Haan will be a good but not exceptional player. Never to early to make that judgment. But wait for it..it gets better..

2010: The Incendiary Posting Blogger has decided that Nino Neiderreiter will not be a difference maker. In essence, it was a bad pick. Based on...his hockey experience and acumen? Or, simply another opportunity to stick a dagger into a GM that doesn't talk to him...this 18 year old has already been caste as an error. He then provides a list of players on rebuilt teams and points out that we don't have that caliber player...but please note the year and draft slot where they were chosen...

Kopitar 2005 (11)/ Doughty 2008 (2)

Kane 2007 (1)/ Toews 2006 (3)

Ovechkin 2004 (1)/ Backstrom 2006 (4)

Crosby 2005 (1)/ Malkin 2004 (2)

Only Kopitar was unexpected. The issue however is obvious...generally, better draft slots AND older players. These rebuilds have been going on for some time...please Islanders fans. Think for yourselves and consider the obvious...We are rebuilding, we have good young talent, more is on the way, and it is very early, despite the words from Upon-High provided to us from the Incendiary Posting Blogger.
