John Tortorella and Larry Brooks butt heads again. Tortorella's issue was yet another Brooks article that torqued his squad, as on this night Danny-boy Carcillo did some more stupid stuff.

John Tortorella and Larry Brooks
Two tools made for each other. You got to love it.
These two obviously don’t like each other and it shows.

The Carcillo-Gaborik fight
Here’s the fight referenced. Hilariously, Flyers fans think Gaborik started it and Rangers fans think Carcillo started it.
Carcillo clearly pulls Gaborik out of the scrum, headlocks him, they shove, then Carcillo throws the first (gloves-on) punch at about 1:11 of that video. Two franchises that, like Torts and Brooks, are made for each other.

Brooks
I think Brooks has written some excellent columns, especially during the lockout where he rightfully called out Bettman for trying to break the union all along.
As for the fight, Carcillo is clearly a douche for his previous actions but i have no problem with what he did. Gaborik actually drops his gloves first and Carcillo could have continued to punch him on the ice. This reminded me of Pedro vs. Zimmer.
Call Carcillo whatever you want but now Ranger fans have something to look forward to: Dress Brashear next time and make Carcillo accountable.
Brooks
I actually got really tired of Brooks’ lockout columns and most of his NHL-business related columns afterward. He approaches it from a single pro-NHLPA agenda, and fills so many columns with that slant. I’ve no love lost for the Goodenow-era NHLPA. The state the league is in now was the doing of players and owners, but Brooks seems to peg everything from here to world hunger on Bettman.
Carcillo…he can certainly do what he did, but just because Gaborik dropped his gloves a millisecond earlier doesn’t mean he didn’t go into that scrum looking to take a star out. He grabbed Gaborik by the head (as if he was some sort of threat), pulled him out of that crowd, facewashed him, and punched Gaborik with his glove on. Whether that’s against “the code” or whatever, I don’t have a strong opinion because obviously the players have no uniform idea what the hell “the code” is. But the implication Flyers fans have made that Gaborik somehow started it is absurd.

Daniel Girardi just stood there
He should have been the third man in to defend Gaborik. Carcillo is a no talent bush league. Good lord we better get Jackman back by next week to take on that goon.
