Q's for Pat LaFontaine?
So, if you had the chance to chat with Pat LaFontaine, what questions would you ask him? Hypothetically speaking, I can't promise I'll be able to use them (he's doing some publicity as part of his entry in the NYC marathon to raise awareness for childhood fitness), but if you have any requests, leave them in comments.

He is my favorite NHL player of all-time.
I would love to ask him how playing through mononucleosis affected his game? In that I mean that he had to battle through quite a few bouts of mono and he still managed to be a successful/effective scorer in the NHL. How difficult was it to perform when recovering from the disease?
I would also love to ask him if the ties with the Isles front office are permanently broken or if he could see himself serving in a advisor capacity or in any other position with the Isles in the future.
We miss you Pat. Please come back!
Been thinking about the front office thing. And mono — I hadn’t realized he had it multiple times.
The thrill of the Easter Epic made me storm into my mother’s room and pledge that I’d never, ever, ever go to bed during an OT game again, ABC blackout.

My grandparents knew better than to force me to go to bed for that one. :) Truth be told I fell asleep for a little while but woke up about 10 minutes before he scored and then fell to the ice. That was amazing.
I would love to meet him one day. He is such a positive and level headed person. The Islanders need him around the organization. He belongs with the organization.
Heh, the impetus for the battle with my mother was actually a big Blues comeback in ‘86 (they called it the Monday Night Miracle) that I missed, causing me to charge to my mother that this policy cannot continue. So staying up for LaFontaine’s winner was like vindication.
When the puck went in, I remember not even knowing how. It was such an unexpected play the way the camera carried out to the point and back … it took a while to sink in and a few replays to realize how.

I’ve wondered what he thought of the 84 US Team. They got a lot of hype due to the 80 team, and he was considered far and away the best player on the team.
One of the more Islander centric ones would be the possibility that if the Islanders move, he could be the last Islander to have made the Hall of Fame.
