"We spent about an hour on the ice and then more time talking and looking at video. We kept that routine for a week.
When I first signed with the Islanders, although everyone knows I would have liked a long-term deal somewhere, it seemed like fate to me. After I worked with Sudsie that first day, I felt even more like the Islanders were the team I should be with. I can’t tell you how many things I learned from Sudsie. I’ve been in the NHL over a decade and he showed me things to help my game that no one has before. That guy is amazing."
Look out, NHL. Best-kept secret Sudsie Maharaj has gotten a hold of new Islanders keeper Martin Biron. [great Q&A w/ Chris Botta]

I’ve always thought of Biron as someone who prides himself on the technical aspect of his game, so this is very encouraging to hear.
FWIW, in a post-draft interview, Veli-Pekka Kautonen – NYI’s chief Euro scout – says that he asked for Sudsie to come to Finland to watch a few games of Koskinen’s this past year, just to see if the goalie coach thought he was as good a prospect as he [Kautonen] thought he was. I thought of that recommendation as I read Botta’s interview w/Biron… as long as our developers develop developing talent, I’m happy.
Hell yes.
I remember hearing/reading that bit about Sudsie going over there to see Koskinen, and I thought, “Now this could be encouraging.” Hope his evaluative eye is as good as his tutoring eye.
