"Yann Danis is a goaltender with five years’ experience on the professional level," said Devils’ Lou Lamoriello. "He will give us depth at that position as we head into training camp."
Lou Lamoriello overflowing with praise for ex-Islander Danis. The Devils don't say what terms were, so it's not yet clear if he's a two-way deal (likely) or a cheap benchwarmer for Brodeur.
Danis was excellent at times last season but finished poorly. Be fun to see if he can handle sporadic playing time.

I wonder who would do better after an extended Brodeur injury: Clemmensen or Danis? I’d put Weekes below them all. I’d bet Loophole Lou is desperately hoping they don’t have to find out.
Lighthouse Hockey: Side effects may include Weight gain and frequent game loss.
If you check my blog a while back I did a comparison of all former NJ Devils who came up through the system since Broduer started. The only one who somewhat came close to his NJ numbers was Dunham. I think Wysh said it best about Clemmensen, for every two periods the Devils won by being the Devils, he would win a single period. If all Danis has to do is nail down one period a night it shouldn’t be too much trouble for him.
