Season Tickets... Worth it?

So I come from the other side of the country. Montana to be exact. I grew up in Chicago where I was actually a die hard Islanders fan over the hometown Blackhawks.  I was considering investing in Islander season tickets.  I was hoping to get some insight from others who have been previously interested in season tickets.  Is there someone you go through in the organization? Should a purchase them from a third party? I would really appreciate some insight on what are the 'good seats' since I have never been to a game.  I plan on attending the majority of the games so I figured it would be worth buying the season tickets? I'd appreciate everyone's help.

Try the Draft Party....June 26th, 2009

If you’ve got a chance, go to the Draft Party on June 26th at the Coliseum. Tickets are free through Ticketmaster.com (Click the link to go right to the page). The Islanders will providing tours of the locker room as well as the arena seating to those interested in purchasing ticket packages. That’s your best chance to not only witness the future of the Islanders unfold in front of your eyes and get a feel for where you would like your seats to be for the upcoming season.

If you can’t make it to the Draft shindig, then the other method is to go on the Islanders website at Islanders.NHL.com and go under the tickets heading. You can also try (516) 501-6700 (the # for the coporate office in Plainview, NY) and ask Bonnie to transfer you to ticket sales.

Best of luck and I hope to see you at some games this year,

Doug (aka IslesOfficial)

Hey ISLES, welcome and thanks for joining/posting that question. As for the answer: What Doug said.

Islanders by way of Chicago and Montana … I’d like to hear more about that back story some day.

Lighthouse Hockey: Side effects may include Weight gain and frequent game loss.

At least you have confidence in me Dom. LOL

I agree I’d like to hear how you got to the Islanders on that route as well (I’m a somewhat of closet Blackhawks fan ever since my dad brought back some goodies from Chicago).

Definitely go to the stadium first.

I have, in the past, had weekender season tickets to both the Black Hawks, and the blues. I live in down state IL, so I am 3 hours from Chicago, and 2.5 hours from St. Louis. The Hawks are my team, and have been for an absurdly long time, but the first time I bought season tickets, I was in the 200 section, first balcony, right next to the camera men. I would follow the puck most of the way down the ice, and then all I could see was the camera mans butt crack three inches from my face! To quote my 2 year old, Icky Poo.
The blues tickets I got for use as a sales promo, and were sitting 14 rows for the ice, and just goal-ward from the corner. In my opinion they would have been much better seats if the blues weren’t playing every game I went to. There was also the fact that I was directly between two beer stands, so I had a long ways to go for refreshment. But I only used them for Black Hawks games.
So… in my long winded way, what I am saying is this. Tour the stadium, find out the important things, like how far to the bathrooms, and the beer stand. You know, important things.

SHOOOOOOOT IT!!!! Anon
