Snow will weigh all options for top pick
"The Islanders are assured of a top-two pick in the June 26 draft and a shot at either Canadian sniper John Tavares or hulking Swedish defenseman Victor Hedman. But general manager Garth Snow Tuesday said he's considering more than those two options, including a possible trade."
I support this track. Of course the meme that comes out of this will be, "Oh my god, they're going to trade that pick - bwahahaha!" But this is just standard fare. Things change, there's two-plus months 'till the draft. Discretion demands feeling things out. Wake me when there's a real decision to make.

If we land number one – there is no way we move the pick unless it’s for players you cannot say no to.
There are not, that many players – I would do that for though.

Totally agree. Unlikely and don’t see it happening — but I see no reason not to wait a while. There are some insane GMs out there, and there may be some owners who suddenly decide they need to get rid of a star because of finances.

Just cross your fingers that this isn’t a repeat of the 99 Draft. I remember the hype going into it, we had 4 picks that were going to be the cornerstones of the franchise for the next few years.
Ugh. I think we have better management now.
