Old Hawks at War: Chelios vs. Larmer

Now, the NHLPA is a mess and it's hard to even identify sides (much less pick a side) when it's the conniving leading the blind leading the dumb. I shouldn't take sides, because I don't know the inside and playing careers don't relate to performance in executive positions. (See: Risebrough, Doug) That said, it's interesting to see hard-liner Chris Chelios -- who (understandably) doesn't see why Paul Kelly was fired -- at odds with former Blackhawks teammate Steve Larmer, who's resigned from the Advisory Board. I always respected Larmer for holding out on cheap Wirtz's Hawks -- even at the cost of his consecutive games streak (I hate holdouts, but that one seemed warranted). And Chelios, well in NHLPA matters I've rarely found his "leadership" inspiring. What a tangled web. Just another angle to the melodrama that could ultimately cost fans.
