John Tavares Impression

it's early, but I feel like I am watching the ghost of Pierre Turgeon. Shifty, great hands, quick shot, strong down low, good vision.  The wrister off the back foot. I would be more than happy with a Pierre type in his prime. Thought his comment about shooting on the fly since the ice was choppy late in the period was very interesting. If he has that kind of head we are in good shape

Very interesting comparison. I hadn’t thought about Turgeon with him. Actually, I haven’t allowed myself to think too much about any comparison — probably out of fear of getting disappointed. He is so strong down low like Pete. Hope he continues to work his legs to become harder to knock off the puck.

The head: He sounds like a student of the game who’s going to keep learning and keep looking for ways to learn and get better.

Oh, and welcome aboard — that is definitely one of the best user handles I’ve seen!

Thanks, glad to be aboard. This team is headed in the right direction. So far am a big fan of Tavares, tho seems today everyone is so in love with Ovie skating prototype. More facets to the game than that!

Heh yes, always with the skating. Not many franchise centers skate like Ovechkin, so I’m terribly worried; Tavares seems to get around just fine.
