When Avery went after Isles GM, coach
"Shanahan, exasperated because he thought his baby-sitting duties were over for the night, orders Avery to leave the Coliseum immediately. ... A Rangers player later tells me, 'Welcome to our world.' ... [Avery also had a] habit of skating by the Islanders bench and taunting Ted Nolan with profane insults about his First Nations ancestry." --Chris Botta, IslandersPointBlank.com
I'm grateful Botta shared this. I never agreed with him that Avery is "good for hockey," but now I better understand why he qualified that opinion: Avery's circus extends far behind the scenes.
